And I take them way too often!!!
You would think after all these years I would think before I pull the plug!!
I just did it again the other day and on that plane I have one of the big gold fuel dots on the fill line and a little silver one on the pressure side!![:@] Brainfart!!

Avoid your typical after run oil in the YS. The seals will be ruined with petroleum based ARO. You should buy a Harry Higley book on engines Jacked69.

Expect overhauls more frequent than you're Saito, especially on the pump diaphram. One big winner on YS is you can put the fuel tank anywhere in the plane, and it will draw fuel. You can tach it 2,000-3,000 higher than your Saito too. Don't forget to readjust your CG with the engine swapping chores.

Personally, I'd put a .91 on it, not a .63. Either way, these are thirsty engines. YS 20/20 fuel isn't cheap.
YS 63FZ: 1/2 oz per minute
YS 91FZ: 1.1 oz per minute
YS 120FZ: 1.5 oz per minute
YS 140L: 1.5 oz per minute
YS 140DZ: with venturi restrictor- 1.75 oz per minute

I really don't think you can use the same process to supercharge the air from a YS engine on a V8 engine. I say that because the very thing that compresses the air in a YS (the piston) is offset by the piston on the opposite side being in the opposite cycle (or something like it).

Thank you for the advice everyone, I will see if I can cancel that order and go with the .91, I know it was not shipped so I will give them a ring now. What power difference would there be comparing the 61 to the .91? A large difference in speed and performance? I would imagine so. Now does anyone know how much BHP the YS .91 puts out? Thanks everyone.

I was looking at central hobbies, it said the 91 was discontinued does anyone know if that is true? I could not get ahold of the place I bought the 61 from?

The 63 would be enough. It will turn a 12x7 at about 11,000 rpm. A 1.10 on that Minnow is just too much. The new 1.10 is actually lighter than the old 91.

The 1.20 was discontinued when the 1.10 came out, the 1.10 had the same specs as the 1.10. The .91 is long gone. I have a friend giving me his old .91 and I have one in a box that has been waiting for a rebuild so the two may make up a good 1. I usuall don't bother with factory specs like HP but the prop and rpm range will give you some clues. Look them up in Centrals site or just do a YS search. And a big YES on the after run oils, it's a NEVER thing. I don't understand the more over hauls statement or trying to compare a YS to a Saito for any reason. Saitos don't even have a pumper in there line?? Order an extra diaphram with your engine, if the engine ever starts to run funny just replace it and your problem is usually fixed, just two little hex screws and off you go. I have run 5% fuel in my 1.10s and they run just fine. The trick there is to know how to adjust a low end needleso it will idle. I have friends running the YS 20/20 Powermaster, I only run one fuel and it's 15%. I like the one fuel fits all thinking, I have even run the YS 1.40 on 15% Have fun and read the instructions, you will be OK and hooked as a life time fan!!!

Nathan your right, I ended up sticking with the 63 size and see how that works out, I will put the 110 in the next project which is the CMP Messerschmitt 109. Thanks Nathan for the heads up. I may put a tuned exhaust on it but that is about it, and will be fast enough for me. Thank you all....
