Probably not the best second plane, but if you really want it, I won't tell you not to get it.

However, you really need to solo first before seriously looking at flying other planes. Once you solo, you'll probably need another 10 hours flight time (about 40 flights) with lots of practice doing touch and gos, flying figure 8's, etc. Only then, would I consider the average student ready to attempt a solo on a hotter plane. And even then, it is strongly recommend that you get an experienced spotter or an instructor for the first 5-10 flights on a second plane.

So, if you got an itch, go ahead and get the plane, but be aware that you need to solo your trainer first... and even then, you'll need some decent stick time on the trainer after you solo before attempting to fly the second plane.

Hope I don't sound to harsh, I just want to give you the best chance of success. Cheers.

Generally speaking, scale type planes are a bit harder to fly than sport planes. The Eindecker might not be too bad though. It should fly pretty slowly and be fairly stable.

The Eindecker would make a good second plane owing to its slow speed and stability, however, it is also a somewhat fragile plane that won't stand up to much abuse.

While you're browsing, take a look at the GP Easy Sport, or Goldberg Falcon
