Well, I almost feel like I should re-introduce myself since it's been almost 3yrs since my last post... My name is Don (hence the screenname) and I live in Phoenix AZ and have been, and will be again, a member of the Arizona Model Pilots Society (AMPS) here in the valley. After getting married, doing some traveling, buying a house and changing jobs, it feels really good to be back spending time with my hobbies again. I really miss them when life takes me in other directions.
So now that I'm finally in a real house again and actually have some garage space (I was in an apartment 3yrs ago), I went out and bought all the supplies I need to re-build my workbench this week/weekend (I want to re-build the old bench I had in my old house back in 2001 - its simple but I really liked it was used to it). As a mattter of fact I will be stopping at Home Depot on my way home from work today to pick up the rest of the lumber.
As far as my models go, I've had a Tiger Trainer 60 about 80% built for the entire time I've been away (I originally bought it back on '03). So far it's survived all the moving around as I've tried to be pretty careful with it. I'm a little concerned it the epoxy joints have gotten brittle.
For my powerplant, I broke in an OS 60FP (ABC) engine for it on a test bench back in '05. I actually plan to fire it up again this week for the first time in 3 years. I Hope it still runs!
I'll try and be more regular here and post progress of getting my trainer finished up and in the air.
IT FEELS GREAT TO BE BACK!!!
