Default Digital Servo's

Why do they hum and make twitching sounds? My standard servo's are very quiet... no noise at all. It makes me nervous because I'm not used to it.

This is absolutely normal for digital servos. Because of the nature of digital servos they are constantly "seeking" to maintain their position, even at center position. Don't worry, there is nothing to be concerned about.

Oh, I've always been here!!! Last weekend I was down in Florida covering Florida Jets, so my time on RCU was limited to the evenings. And even then I was busy downloading video and pictures.

I have a digi servo on my MT, and it is constantly whining when I drive the truck. They are very nice servos to have though.

Great! I'm sure both of you have some miles on your vehicles by now. I'd love to do what you guys do... did either of you get to fly yourselves, or did you just film and report?

When you get your film completed I'll want to check it out.

Thanks Brett65, yea everywhere I go everyone loves digital servo's. So when I saw the deal at the LHS I jumped on it and bought 12 of them.

So you guys got an idea on how I started to panic a little when I heard the chatter and hum. I look forward in trying these babies out. Who knows, I might be a Digital Servo Fan in the end.

I wasn't at Florida Jets but at EFest we just reported. Though I knew some people and did a little bit of heli flying.

I'll be at Top Gun, XFC, and IRCHA this year.

Normally we don't get to fly. There were a couple pilots that would have probably let me take up their planes at Florida Jets, but to be honest I was just too busy. Minnflyer was supposed to be covering Florida Jets with me but had a family emergency at the last minute, so I was covering the event by myself. I pretty much had a camera of video camera to my eye a good portion of the time there!!!

Coming up I'll be covering The Toledo Show in April, Top Gun in May, XFC in June, Warbirds Over Delaware in July, helping BarracudaHockey with IRCHA in August, DOGS over Labor Day weekend, and Monster Planes in October!!!!

He does kit reviews when he's bored and instead of sleeping runs his own business while he's moderating on RCU
