Went out very early this morning with my brother he had never flown before but had a ton of hours with the nexstar simulator. So I went through his nextstar with a fine tooth comb
fixed a couple of issues, set all of his throws, plugged him into the buddy box and away he went!!!! I never had to take over once!!!! Even on landing!!!!!
For the first time in my life I seen my oldest brother who I never knew that well ( close to 20 yr diff) laugh and giggle like a little kid.
I could not get him to give it up today LOL we left the field when he ran out of fuel, an entire gallon
I took my bird up several times as well ( Hobbistar 60,65LA engine) with throws maxed out and swinging a 13x5 prop does all the basics wonderfully. I even let him fly it because the nexstar has the droops and speed brakes,I wanted him to get an idea of what he was in for with them removed, he did great with it but decided that I would land it for him with the buddy box.
It was 38 degrees 10mph winds and raining time to time, I was cold, wet, and I am so tired I am about to fall asleep, man what a great day of flying !!!

Cherish those times with your brother. My older brother passed away Sept 10, 2001 - the day before "9/11". You will remember this day for a long time and I'm glad you two were able to enjoy it together.

My younger brother got me into flying about 4 years ago, and for that, I am forever gratefull. I am 48 and he is 37. We have had some of the best times of our lives flying together. There are 12 years differance in our ages, so growing up, we had quite differant intrests as you can imagine. But the older we both get the closer we are. The age spread has all but disappeared.
Good times for sure!!!
Cheers
