Default Trainer delay with Futaba 6exp

I've got two new guys to train this spring. They each have the Futaba 6EXP. I have a model programmed for each of them in my 9 CAP. I'll be holding the 6EXP, and they will be using my 9CAP until they solo. I have noticed at least a second delay from the time I let go of the trainer switch, until they actually gain control. What in God's name is the purpose behind this?

That delay shouldn't be there. I just trained with a student last night using his 6EX 2.4Ghz transmitter and an old SkySport 4VF buddy box and the switch was instantaneous.

It's normal. It's instantaneous when you take back control, but when you give control it does take a second. I'm unsure of the purpose, and it's a little annoying.

From my experience that exact student's radio isn't instantaneous.

Nathan is right here. I've seen comments in the Futaba forum to this being correct.

My 6EX (72mhz) had a slight delay also, but I don't think it did when the instructor needed control.

It's a one second delay when giving control over to the student... Not a big deal in my experience. Release the switch and control reverts back instantaneously.

Ahh, I wouldn't have noticed that from my end of the radio system. I haven't noticed it on my 7C when training folks on my Tower Trainer last year, either, though.
