ok i'm trying to lighten up my load..
i currently have a e-flight 40amp brushless ESC with a e-flight 480 brushless outrunner motor
running on a thunder power 3cell 11.1v 910mah lipo
if i would to purchase a 250 brushless outrunner motor, would it work with the 40amp ESC?
also if i would to purchase a thunder power 7.4v 480mah lipo would it work with the 480 motor?
thanks in advance guys

I'd buy another inexpensive ESC to use in it's place and save that 40A ESC for another plane.
Remember though that it is the propeller that ultimately determines the amount of current draw, and you must not exceed the recommended maximum power draw for that motor.

When you step down the voltage, you normally increase the KV rating, and vice versa.
Why not just get a plane that matches your 480 motor and ESC?
There are plenty that will work... e.g. Electrifly Reactor EP 3D, etc.

well i am actually trying to make the lightest combo possible (motor, esc, batt) for a custom mini slow flyer i built out of cardboard..lol i currently have a 480 brushless outrunner and a 40 amp esc and the smallest batt i have is a 11.1v 910mah lipo.. so i was thinking of getting a 250 brushless outrunner, a 20 amp esc and a 7.4v 480mah batt.. i'm just trying to figure out if it has the power im gonna need for some slight 3D as a slow flyer
