Well one of our club members gave me a Balsa USA stick 40, Nearly a year and Ijust have nowfinished it, but I havent started on it only a month ago. It was about 11:30PM Central 5-11-09and I'd just finished putting the control rods in the wing. I have recovered theentire wing and the tail, putanother engine in it, installed theservos and rx,etc. It still wasnt 100% done cause on the field I'd have to switch the batt. and switch to the other plane from my trainer. It has been a month since Ihave flown because of weather. I had planned on madiening it on or club meeting. I got the the field and Iwas the first one. I waited it someone to show up before I even start my engine. Well a guy shows up and we start flying. The first take-off in a month was not bad. I did a few loops and rolls and I tried to do a few snap rolls as well. Now everyone shows up and flys. Our hay field which is usally a pain cause if you go to far and run off the runway and in to the tall grass, your plane will nose over. Well the grass was so tall that it just stopped the plane, it was nearly waist high. I think everyone hit it at least once. When the light was starting to fad. Our pres, who gave me the plane still hasnt shown up yet. I put the batt and switch in to the other plane and check the cg. I had a little trouble finding it
because my trainer the spars are yardsticks ( spad debonair
). So one of the members came over and showed me the wing spar and the cg. Well Ifire up the O.S 46 LA that hasnt started in a month or 2. Taxi out and give her full throttle, went down the runway and about half down it pulls sharply to the right. I should have aborted up got her up just in time. She flys after than my trainer. I bring her up and try to trim her out. When I letgoof the stick, she drops like a rock. Ihadtrimbut notenough. Oneof the members see me havingtrouble and helps me, and does the trimin. It take nearlyfull up elevator to gether to stay level. At one pointI somehow lose orintation andhave to askif I'm inverted and it turns out I was . WhenIhear the words " Thats all the trim you got" and it still drops like a rock. The exact words run across my mind" I'm gonna crash, on the madien." I have never experience an inflight problem other thana few deadsticks and those are really nothing as long as you have altitude. I have never trained or nothin. By this time, my knees are just shacking, worse than my first solo. When I bring her around to try to land her, my knees are just about to give out. Ican be my head going up and down because of it. I figure out I can contro the altitude with the throttle. Here she comes on final. I somehow lower the throttle too much and she hits the weed just short of the runway
. When I start to walk out, I find it hard to walk cause my knees are still shacking
. The entire club watched the madien and tell my they know how I feel. When Iget to the plane I find it unharmed other than I broken prop, its fine. No bent gear, not a single scratch. I'm glad it landed in the weeds and not the runway, cause my landing wouldnt been a very good one and the weeds absorbed the impact very well. I bring it back and find that when I give it up elevator, itjust makes it level.
. Some howI had missed that. One of the members said the same thing, he had looked at my plane and didnt catch the flaw. We correct the problem and I was just about to go at it again when the tx batt warning bell came on.
I had charged it last night and its going off. One of the members suggested to run the batt all the way down and try it again or it may just be bad. Over all I'm happy. In between the

From: No City,
FlyBoy 2, congratulations on recovering and getting the plane flying again. If knees didn't shake at times we wouldn't be human. They probably won't shake on the next flight, have fun!
