They are helpful if the wing has been designed to be built on one. But you don't have to worry about the Ultra Sport wing. Build it by the instructions and it builds easy enough that you don't have to worry about it.</p>

Ihave one of these. I built my super Sportster .60 wing on it and it came out perfect. Still, it's kind of inconvinent in my opinion. I personalyl think a better investment is a sturdy, flat building surface and an assortment of pins, clamps, etc.

I've built an Ultra Sport 40, and an Ultra Sport 60. All you need is a flat building surface and use the trailing edge support they provide you in the kit. You'll end up with a fine wing (and an awesome flyer!).

All you need for the wings on that bird is a 25 dollar hollow core door, and a 24x48 inch acoustic tile from a drop ceiling. I'vebeen using this setup for many years without problems. Now if you graduate to a symetrical wing, try the Magic Magnet building system. It has clamps, step blocks and everything you need for perfect wings.

One thing to remember with that jig if you do get it is that it must also be mounted on a good flat surface. If not, you can easilly build a bowed wing with it.

Err, Scratchbilt...the Ultra Sport DOES have a symmetrical wing. Ceiling tile does work great. If you want to get into something longer lasting for a few more $$$ get yourself a piece of 3/4" fiberboard and put a couple of layers of 1/4" cork on it.

This one is basically patterned from one that was manufactured quite a few years ago called an A-Just-a jig. however this one is no wheres near as good as the old one which was great. With A-Just_a-jig you could build entire wing on it including the dihedral and all the sheeting except a small area in center. It also was elevated so could be swiveled to enable working top or bottom. I left hobby for about 20 years and sold it. No longer see it available. I don't see much advantage to what they are selling.
