I'm new to RC planes and want to fill my Extra 300 foam plane with electronics. I want to have a bit powerful battery and motor so I can reuse it later for other models. I've chosen the following configuration:

Battery: Rhino 1550mAh 3S 11.1v 20C Lipoly Pack (170g)
Motor: FC 28-22 Brushless Outrunner 1200kv (53g)
ESC: SuperSimple 20A ESC (30g)
Servos: HXT500 5g / .8kg / 10sec Micro Servo
Charger: Turnigy 420 Balancer/Charger 2S~4S (396g)

Also thinking about getting this radio as well:
Hobby King 2.4Ghz 6Ch Tx & Rx (Mode 2).

What do you think about it, please comment.

Thanks in advance,
Ruben.

Well if your new then all of that is wrong. You really can't start out with an extra 300, you should get the proper (nitro IMO) trainer and an instructor and definaletly a simulator (I use FS-One). Depending on how new you are, that is what I did and what I recommend. Please reply and say how new you are (have you ever flown? what did u fly?)

get a gws slowstick first, then fly the extra (same equiptment). next time get the hxt900's their more powerful servo's

as for that transmitter. i wouldnt get the one you posted. it may work it may not. if you want to advance in the hobby that transmitter is going to be worthless. i would get a futaba 4yf or 6ex.

I have the Hobby King 6ch Tx & receiver and I've had a good experience with it. It's basic but for me has worked flawlessly - If money is no object I'd probably get an expensive radio. For me an expensive radio is at least three or four homebuilts.
