i see there there are air struts for the p51d when using retracts
my main question is can i get away with not using struts (since its kinda pricey) and just stick with retracts and the plastic covers that make it look like struts
70 usd is alot for me right now with all my other purchases im looken for a way to get retracts without the all out cost of struts also
the retracts are 3/16 wire ones
thanks for anyone info or comments ahead of time
sorry the kit im building is a top flight p51d mustang kit sold at tower hobbies incase u need to look at the kit

Oh yea I wouldn,t trust them ,there were a set on a FW190 I paid $700 for, the woobleist under carriage I,ve ever seen and they came with the kit I,m now installing a set of Century gas retracts that I got of a guy who had an accident in his P40 If it was me I,d be going to the buy sell option on this forum and look for a real decent set that is air over electric or similiar,3/16 aint big enough for a hard landing ,but then again its your choice I know what I,d do given your choice ,all the best with your endeavours
