So I got a engine Fox .40RC Std, ball bearing engine off ebay. IT was supposed to be NIB...and it is excpet that I think it has been sitting for a LONG time. I tried to turn it over with my hand and it is really really stiff. Also, the throttle lever (or whatever it is called) is also pretty stiff. Any suggestions or should I hit this guy up for a refund? Thanks.

Why not cook it in a crockpot full of anti-freeze? Did this last year and could not believe how clean the engines came out. Just remember to remove the seals and gaskets before hand. Then add a little 3 in1 oil to the engine afterwards should be good as new

Don't worry about it, engines stiffen up. Dump some marvel mystery oil in it and work the carb slowly. Dump some in the exhaust port and down the carb and turn it over and work it in. It will loosen up to good as new in about 2 minutes. You don't have a problem.

Engines stored for a while frequently do that, it's just the oil getting gummy. The suggestions above will all work to loosen it up. You can also just mount the engine, go to the flying field, and use fuel to loosen it up. Then you are already primed and ready to go.
