Finally Soloed Today
I know, this type of post gets old, but I just had to post.
I'm flying the new Alpha 40 with DSM2 2.4ghz technology. It's a great trainer and I'm glad I picked it up last year. I finished up last season with my instructor taking off. I was able to land okay with his instruction. Today I did the same thing on the first flight but on the second flight I did it all. The take off was smooth and I did circuits and figure 8's for about 5 minutes. Then I brought it in for a landing. It felt great to get this under my belt, and now I can't wait to get back to the field.
Actually, the real reason I'm posting this is so I can get one of Ken's nifty certificates!
Happy Flying!!

good job!!! I still remember how excited I was after my first flight. heck I still get "happy" after I successfully fly a plane I'm nervous about.

Congrats! Now, keep flying. You will end up flying this thing for a long time. I still have mine, and it's 8 years old (obviously, not the 2.4ghz model). You will use this plane for learning everything, you just have the basics under your belt. Remember to keep it 2 mistakes high while you work on all the maneuvers you are going to try, and it should last a long while. Good luck!

Ya know...at some point it doesn't matter. I mean...a blowtorch is dry heat too.

Congratulations!
But just for the record, ''Ken's'' nifty certificates (along with all of his other great pics) are MY handywork. He just usually beats me to the punch.

Just remember...
Because you have soloed doesn't mean you know how to fly!
Most first crashes happen shortly after you're on your own.

Congrats!! Great feeling isn`t it? Still have my "Attaboy" in its frame from almost six years ago! It`d be interesting to know how many of those things Minn and Ken have given out. Just remember, "Altitude and airspeed are your friends", especially when you first start flying on your own.
