I had my car broken into last night an the person stole my P-51 PTS. It was the airframe with engine and all electronics. The cowl was damaged because it was off of the one that I crashed. I am rather upset about this, they took my iPod too. With a $500 deductible chances are I am not getting anything for it. It had all stock JR gear and no tx as that was inside the house.
If anyone sees a Mustang like this for sale please let me know. I am located in the Western Suburbs of Chicago so it will probably be for sale around there.
Thanks

I HATE thieves.
Not much consolation I know, but if by some odd chance it makes its way south, I'll keep an eye out for ya.
My best wishes for getting it back, and finding the wasted sack of protoplasm that snatched it!

Yeah, definitely call any LHS that buys/sells used planes. We had a guy have some stuff stolen from the field (including a $$$$$ .90 heli) while he was there by himself. It showed up about a week later at one of the LHS, but the LHS was on the lookout for it so when it came in they called the cops and talked the guy up while the cops came. He got his stuff back, and the guy got arrested.

Please post pictures, if you have any.
I am very sorry for you.
Thieves are going crazy these days.
They have just broken twice in our office building at night and have stolen computer equipment and more.
Hope you can recover it!

Dreamingtree: Whatever you do about calling places (Pawn, LHS, whatever), do it immediately.
I had my car broken into a while back. They took some presents that were in a bag in the back seat, unfortunately, the receipts were there too, and I paid cash.
I didn't hesitate, but by the time I found out about the break-in, and reported it, the character had already gone to the store and got a cash refund on all the stuff he stole. So, he made out much better than trying to fence it through a pawn broker.
Not that he can take it to somewhere and get the full value, but he could do whatever he does immediately and you may never be able to catch the turd.

Sorry to hear that. I'm in law enforcement, and you need to call, or vist all the pawn shops in your area, as this is where the plane will end up. Especially since he also took your Ipod, might as well dump both at the same place. The perp most likely knows nothing about RC. Good luck, I hope you get your items back.

also keep this thread updated at least once a week or so, if you have photos then there helpfull for those looking for it, to know its yours, if its spotted on ebay, or craigs list someone will know to notify you, there was a highly detailed Hangar-9 Corsair stolen a while ago that was recovered, because it was spotted by a RCU member on ebay, the police were called and the perp is now in jail, happy ending for the owner.
but it was over 6months before it showed up onthe auction site, the thief I am sure thought the heat had cooled off a bit.

I can't see a pawn shop having much interest in the plane but a LHS might. Also notify all local clubs AMA or not. Has anyone bought RC gear at a pawn shop?? I'd never look in one for RC gear.

But then, I don't shop in pawn shops either.
