Default Tack gluing question?

How is tack gluing done without marring the wood after the pieces are seperated?
Thanks.

Default RE: Tack gluing question?

It's going to mar the wood. You will glue things back afterwards so it really isn't an issue. Use a glue that you easilly sand down to wood for tacking. This eliminates CA and Epoxy as choices. Use as little glue as you can for the tack. Unless you have to move the piece after removing it after tacking, even if there is some wood stuck to the tack joint, everything should fit right back to gether when you glue it down for real the next time.
