I also wish my high rates were all on one switch, but that's another story[X(]

Anyway, any switch (and there's lots of them) can be assigned to any channel for rate switching. So you can have just the one switch do everything.
You can also assign a rate change for when the stick moves beyond a certain deflection, so that rate changes are automatically selected.
Mixing is a not quite so simple. There are undocumented preferences such as Ch 1 and Ch6 for dual aileron and Ch2 and Ch5 for dual elevator. If, asI did, you use different channels for mixing these functions, the trim only works on one surface, so putting aileron trim in causes a pitch change and putting in elevator trim causes a roll. I'm sure there's a book somewhere that has it all explained, but why isn't it in the manual?
Oh, and while I'm ranting, the front of the TX isn't fuel proof. Fuel has got under the chroming and has caused blisters.

you might be able to triple on one or two channels , with the higher end radios. I have the JR X 9303.
I have put my ailrons on my left three position switch and have been able to set them in three different position. But one position was in the center, I guess that does not count.
I will have to look at that, I might be able to get more by useing the high/low rate sw. and the 3 position sw on one control surface.
I might try that.

I use my low / high rate setting only on a maiden. I dail in lower rates and also higher...I take off with low rates and if I feel it's too little input I switch over to high rates immediately. After the maiden or second flight I switch to high rates. Whether that be 100% rates or less. My Edge at the moment are set too 85% on high rates. This is my comfortable flying rates. It's not too twitchy and not too little. I will up it in a couple of more flights. I do however have set my "low rates" to 85% aswell, since I have found numerous times that I by accident knock the switch.

Does anybody remember when these features were available to pilots?
Once available, how did they improve piloting and influence competition?

all the bells and whistles are nice but I don't think many of us really need them. Don't get me wrong I would not give up my JR X9303 for the world, I really enjoy working with it. I am a high tech. nut anyway. My old job that I retired from was playing with robots and computer automated machenery for years, loved it. My X9303 helps me stay conected to the high tech. world.

how can anyone miss something that they never had??????
I miss time travel, I would really like to go back and visit meself when I was 20 years old. You say we never had time travel, how can we miss it?????

Ok, a second thought .
could we do without it.
YES, but it would be harder, and we would have to go back to doing more things to make our planes fly. It took a lot of hardware and work to do things. One of the guys said that we could not do ail. differential without a computer. He did not know how to do it, but it can be done.

I think the question should be asked - if it didn't exist would you miss it?

I use trims a lot and the constant beeping and squawking frightens the bejesus out of the other pilots on theflightline.Mixing's OK though. I bought the T7CAH set because I needed multiple servos for elevator and aileron and it's the easiest way to achieve it without making myself a microprocessor mixing board.
End point adjustment makes for precise throw adjustment and throttle set up. Without it, setting up the idle of most of my engines would have given Ackerman a heart attack.

I agree to a point, my X9303 has digital trim, except for the throttle and I find I like it. I get my models set up and adj for flying in the computer. and the only thing I use then is the trim for the thottle and I like to see and feel where it is.
