I have an Eaglet that I built 15 years ago or so and It never really flew too well. It has been crashed and repaired many times and is probally alot heavier than it should be. I am looking to put the engine (OS 25fp) and radio into something else. The age old question, which kit do I buy. Is a PT-20 with a little larger wing any more stable than my eaglet was? I am pretty much either going to try another Eaglet, a PT-20 or a LT25. Cost is an issue as the lt-25 is a bit more expensive than the other two kits. I'll throw it out there for some opinions Thanks jag

I learned on an Eaglet and I also have a PT20 that I built for my son. The Eaglet flew much lighter but also more fragile. The PT20 flew well also and I think it can take some abuse, just speculation as I never did anything bad to it. I still have my original 20 yr old Eaglet hanging in my dad's basement[8D]

I had just finished building the Eaglet and it came out too heavy for my OS FS-30. Flew like a rubber powered cinder block. I tried building the PT-20 and finally gave up on it. I must of gotten a bad kit. The wood looked like pretzles.
I'm with David. Go for the LT-25.

Thanks for some advice on this. I currently fly a LT-40 and a Tower Trainer. So when I do fly my Eaglet it is a real handful compared to the other two.

If you like the LT-40 then you will like the LT-25. Very similar planes just somewhat smaller and with conventional gear. In fact our club used to use them for our youth program and every kid who built one learned to fly it.
