Default E-Flight apprentice receiver problem

Hi, hoping for some help here.

I put together my Apprentice as per the directions. Charged up the battery etc as well. Turned the transmitter on per direction, then hooked up the battery hoping to find them "connected" . The directions say this plane is already "bound" to the transmitter but Idon't think it is. Isee no lights flashing on the receiver as the directions seem to indicate there should be. Ido hear a high pitch electronic noice (very low volume however) when the battery is connected to the plane.

Any idea what is happening here? Thanks

You ought to be seeing a solid light on the receiver if the bind held. I'm assuming this is the DX5e radio and AR500 receiver combo that usually comes with these planes. If you are not seeing a solid light, then the bind procedure is:

1. Turn everything off
2. Put the bind plug in the "Batt/Bind" port on the receiver
3. Connect the battery to the ESC/Plane
4. While pulling the Trainer switch on the top left of the radio turn it on and hold the trainer switch until the servos set the receiver light is solid.
5. Release the trainer switch
6. Pull the bind plug off of the receiver
7. Function check all control surfaces and the motor with the radio
8. Have fun with it
