Irvine tutor 40 question
Hi i have a Irvine Tutor 40 with a irvine ABC 50 engine fitted and need a new prop, What size do i need for thic AC/Engine? I think it might be a 10X7...?

Well, what suits the plane is the prop that flys it the way you want it to fly, and if it lives up to what you expect it to do.
What I would suggest, is what I always suggest, is to buy a few props of different sizes around you current size.. APC props are pretty reasonable, and try them out. See what you like and if what you select does what you expect it to do.
Yeah, I know, that sounds like I'm beating around the bush, but no one can realistically recommend a specific prop to you for that aircreaft/engine combination. We can just suggst a range, and you have done that yourself.
Fly it with what you have and see how it works out. Try different props. The worse that will happen is that you collect several props in different sizes.... there isn't one person here that will tell you that they have only one prop size in their collection...

You will get all sorts of specific replies, use this prop, or use that prop, but you know what? It comes down to what you like and what you want your plane to do.
If you think the original was a 10-7, then pick up a 10-7 and try it out. If you don't like it.. refer back to the above quote.

It is a little hard to be sure what engine you have. I have never heard of an Irvine 50, as far as I know they made 39,40,46 and 53 size engines that might be in a Tutor
As it is a trainer speed is the last thing you want so I would go with a lower pitch say 4 inch so a 11x4 on a 39 to a 13x4 on a 53.

11x7 for speed, and 13x4 to slow things down
Prop choice is very individual, but those mentioned is a good starting point. 10x7 is way too small for a irvine 53.
