Custom Field Box Pictures??
I was wondering if any of you who went a different route with your field box could post some pics here. When I first started out and up to the present I have been using the plain Hobbico Ultra-Tote field box. Well it has seen better days and Im looking to try a different setup. Rather than buy another Tote I was wondering what some of you may have come up with. I did see one person at my field use a rolling tool box, it looked good but was on the larger size. And this could benefit the newbies since they will have different options.

RE: Custom Field Box Pictures??
Here is the field Box I designed and built around 1972. It is made of sheet steel, about 1/32" thick. I welded it together. About every 20 years I have to paint it. It fits on the floor of the passenger side of a compact car. I easily carry it with one hand, with the handle of the radio on my thumb, and carry my plane in the other hand. One trip and I'm ready to fly.

That a sturdy looking field box, I just went over my Ultra -Tote with some wood glue because its coming apart in some areas, but you have eliminated that problem with you design.

I designed this one out of coroplast. It was a lot of fun to build. It's cheap, light, strong, water and fuel proof, easy to work with etc. Fuel can is powder coated, and I have 2 twelve volt batteries for my Dynatron. I've been using it for 3 years now, and it still looks brand new. The fuel and battery cells detach from the main box, and reattach to each other. That's all I take to the starting table.
