Default Newbie with E Sky Simulator

I am brand new and don't know how to fly. I got an E Sky simulator and calibrated it right, at least, I thought I did.

The danged simulator came with no schematic for the controls! So I tried just taking off in an airplane. I gave it "power up" with the left stick and pulled the right stick down for ailerons to get into the air.

Well, I don't know the basics, so I can't complain, but the simulator is all over the place. The aircraft just won't stay stable no matter what I do.

Can you help a newbie out with the fundamentals?

Thanks!

"Pulled the right stick down for ailerons to get into the air"
I think you wanted to say: "pulled the right stick down for up elevator to get into the air."

The fundimentals are keep the green below you and the blue above.

Mode 2, standard in the U.S., assigns the left stick to control throttle in the vertical (up is more) and rudder in the horizontal. Right stick is ailerons horizontal (moving the stick to the right causes the right aileron to rise & that side to roll down) and elevator vertical (pushing up for down and pulling back for up).

Are you starting with a high-wing trainer in the simulator? Some models (and their simulations) do exactly what you tell them . . . which can be to fly all over the place wildly. Trainers do some righting on their own.

The controller will need to be calibrated from the Windows control panel first. Once that is done, you will then have to calibrate and map the controller in FMS as well. The plane is moving by itself most likely because the left stick isn't mapped to the throttle.

Airplane assignments should be 1 = aileron, 2 = elevator, 3 = throttle, 4 = rudder. Follow the calibration instructions carefully in FMS. It will first ask you to move both sticks around fully on all axis, then click next. It will then tell you to center both sticks and then click next again. If you don't center the throttle stick before clicking next a second time, your throttle will be programmed squirrelly or not work at all.

Good luck, and keep firing off questions.

You may have hit on it. I just calibrated it in FMS per the instructions. I didn't do anything in the Windows control panel. How do you calibrate there?

Thanks for your help!

Assuming you're on MS Windows:

Control Panel

Gaming Controllers

[you should see your device listed]

Settings

Calibrate

[when that is done go to . . . ]

Test
