Default Flaps and elevator linkage

Not sure if this is the correct forum place for this question. However, let me give it a go. I am trying to link flaps with elevator(down). I have tried the manual, without much luck. I talked with Futaba and explained that the manual was not much help. He said it was a starting point. That did not help. I am using the right slider on my 9C for flaps.
I want to add a bit of down elevator with my UltraStik Lite. Thus far, no luck. If someone can give me a clear path to this combination it would be very helpful.

You have to use a mix so the elevator is slaved to the flap lever. I found this on their web http://www.futaba-rc.com/faq/faq-9c-q720.html

I highly recommend ypu get a copy of Harry Higley's "Radio Programming Futaba's 9CA". Available through Tower or direct. 89 pages that take off from where the [poor] manual leaves you scratching your head. THe FAQ pages at Futaba are also very helpful if you can find the right one.

I really like my 9CA.

You can slave the elevator to the slider. The 9CA uses toggle "E" as the default flap mix switch. Choose an unused program mix from the second page of the advanced menu. (This is assuming you set the model up as "acrobatic" when assigning the model initially). Select "EVEV->FLAP" menu choice. Select on "INH" and change it to show either "ON" or "OFF" (depends on where switch "E" is - doesn't matter at this point). Move the cursor down - you can change the switch if you want here. If you leave it with the switch instead of added to one of the sliders you have the either/or choice for flaps & elev mix. Change the rates to the deflection you want. Observe the model to be sure you get the +/- direction correct. Then back out of the menu screen.

Enjoy.
