Default HOLY FIRST SOLO BATMAN!!!!

Okay so..... For I would say probably the last ten flights with my instructor and buddy cord I have been doing the entire flight, taking off, all flying and landing with only very minor mistakes and I'm very hard on myself so I really try not to make the same mistake twice. Even though the last few flights I have been thinking I could fly myself I think I was just to comfortable with my instructor.
So I finally decided I was confident enough to fly myself.
Now today at work my coworker(who has two different cubs but has never flown) says his relation just bought a farm house with nothing but flat open fieldspace and he wanted me to go check it out with him and he was going to try some taxis and I would fly my plane(a tower 40 trainer). This is where it gets interesting, we get there and its all cut down haygrass about five inches tall and the hard dirt underneath was pretty bumpy so I said I wasnt even going to attempt a takeoff with my trike.
He grabbed the mower and trimmed out a runway but it was still a little to bumpy for the trainer gear so he says "I want you to fly my cub"," I wont hold you responsible."
Its a goldberg 76.5" with a 55 magnum engine and an old futaba conquest tx but I looked everything over and couldnt find any real problem so after we got the engine tuned I looked for the flatest possible spot and lined up behind the plane.
I gave the controls and throttle one last check and started to throttle up I eased off the elevator and watch the tail raise, once it was up to speed and I was just going to pull up it hit a bump and bounced a foot and a half into the air and turned sharply to the right I gave some aileron correction and the rest of the throttle. At this point the plane is pointing ninty degrees to the left from where it started and was only about four feet off the ground, but I straightened out out and pulled up, success I was up and the plane was undamaged. Up until now all I flew was my trainer so this plane was more work to trim and fly so after a couple minutes I decided to land, I cut to about a third throttle to start my descent. This is when I found that the throttle was stuck at half open! I couldnt get it to move down at all so I made the decision to fly it out of fuel and dead stick it. So after twenty minutes of working to fly this thing well the engine finally died and as i was bringing it in I brought it into a little valley that was deeper than I thought. When I was about three feet off the ground I lost sight of it and I tried my best to feel it out. When I walked out to get it you could see in the taller grass( about 6") that I landed rolled about 10-15' and either the grass or a bump flipped it a half of flip forward so it ended up gentley upside down with no damage! So today I soloed, flew a big cub for the first time and deadsticked it for the first time ever after a hard 25 minute flight of constantly correcting and retrimming. WHEW! in a hurry now gotta go sorry for the long story, had to share. and sorry for any misspellings.

I totally understand your excitement and I will say congratulations on a successfull solo. With that said you should have had an instructor present during the flight. If your constantly making trim adjustments and then get to a point where you can not make the plane come down, then something is seriously wrong. An instructor would have identified the problem and help minimize the risk.

I thought maybe his throttle servo jammed but when I was playing around with it afterward I found that where the throttle linkage hooks up the clevis was hitting the engine mount which wouldnt allow it to move back any further than half open( and no it was not doing this at all on the ground before). So I told him he would probably have to take that clevis off and just bend the rod 90* to get it through the hole and then bend it the oppisite way so it cant come back out. Besides the bumpiness this was a much larger and more open field than the one at the club I'm in. I actually cant wait to tell my instructor about it, He kind of gave me the green light at the end of our last session but I planned on using my plane at the club field but I wouldn't change a thing now.
