Default Receiver problem?

I had an unfortunate crash with my Calmato last month. The results were broken fuselage and one small problem i want to ask with my receiver. My receiver is the Futaba R617FS (the standard that comes with the 7C). The issue is that one of the two antennas it has, the little piece in the edge that is uncovered, is cut. Is that going to be problematic? If yes, how much? These things are not cheap.

Absolutely it will affect the reciever. That little "uncovered" part is the actual antenna of the receiver, and if one of them is broken it will affect the function of the receiver. Send it in to hobby services to have it repaired. I usually make it a habit to send in any receiver that is in a crash anyways to make sure there are no problems resulting from the crash.

I have to agree with Ken, it could be an issue and is not worth ruining a plane to find out if it is a problem. Just send it in a have it checked. Good Luck, Dave

I always send the receiver in or toss it after a crash depending on the receiver itself and how much it cot. There be damage to the circuit board inside that you can't see; not just the obvious stuff. It is worth the postage to me. I see that you are not in the US though so sending here to Hobby services might be expensive. I'm sure Futaba has a distributor or service center closer to you.

International distributors: http://www.futaba-rc.com/futdist.html
