finally, got a great day of flying in today. 3 flights, no dead sticks. I feel like I can finally put the cowl back on. YAHHHOOO!! Did the pinch test before the first flight, which told me it was a tad lean, backed the HSN off 4 clicks, and took off, No issues what so ever!!

By the way I used the 12.25 X 3.75 APC prop. Once I had it the air, I let one of our best 3D pilots take over the sticks, told him to maker it hover, and man did it!! The super decathlon hovered all day!!!! It was great!! For now I myself will stick to scale flying. Flying the Super decathlon is a dream! Even with the dead sticks I had last week!! Couldn't ask for a better plane! I LOVE IT!!!
And of course this forum, without which, I'm convinced that my successful flights today would not have been possible. A WWII Army Air Corps Vet showed up at the field today. He flew B17's, and was a flight instructor. Lots of awesome stories. I admire those guys and what they did! He said the real B17 was more like a truck than a plane and way under powered, but they learned to deal. Guess that is the same with we RC Pilots. Sometimes we must learn to deal with what ever our planes and nature throw at us. Either way we learn, and then apply.

Hey Bill,
That's great ! I had my second dead stick today.
A student and instructor took forever to taxi out and
take off. I ran out of fuel, my bad. All's well though,
my Astro Hog is home safe. PPPPPP
