Default how to post

I enter a search item, select search and the next screen simply restates my search item, in the left column.

Maybe try a new search? I go to the search button on the top right of the screen, then enter my search term. I get a list of links to all relevant threads.

I found the search function to be not as useful as it was before the big change of a few months ago. I cannot search by author. It seems to locate plenty of info, but there is no way to focus the search. What are the plans? Surely someone in the know can state something.

Old and new search are available.  new is default but if you want old just click old search link at top of new search page

new search has filters on left side and a link under the search box to explain how to use more powerful advanced functions and features
