A flying buddy of mine built one this summer. He raved about how quick and easy it was to build, and I've seen it fly several times. Flys great, he's got a GMS .47 on his and it will hover. Been wanting to get one myself, just haven't done it yet. For $50 how can you beat it?

It's a fun little plane. I have it's cousin, the Dazzler, and it flies great with a .46LA.
There's a thread in the kit forum right now where a guy is building three at once.
Good luck

i would go with the th fun 51. its a great flying plane, and set up right will fly so slow its amazing. i would get a old .40 or .46 la (any 40 sized bushing engine). anything else and its to heavy to fly really slow. i have a .46 la on mine and it has plenty of power to hover
also build the aileron and elevator last as you will need to extend them a inch...it makes a huge difference
the fun 51 was easy to build and not to hard to cover, but if your set on the uproar it should be a good plane as well

The one thing I don't like about the Uproar and Dazzler is the wing is not removable.
It is epoxied in place. I think it will be a real problem to recover and repair.
I have a Dazzler ARF and I think its construction is crap.
It is covered in vinyl not Monokote and there were some construction issues.
I also didn't care for the instructions. One place if I had floowed them I would have had some real problems.
I think you can do better with a different plane.
Good Luck,

Over in kit building there is a thread going right now on the Up-Roar. I have built about 8 of them over the years and love the plane, the Dazzler is a better looking plane but for the most part they are one and the same. Fun fly events used to be the big thing in most clubs but they seem to have died off over the years for some reason. These were fun fly planes and not really meant for repairing. Not a lot of anything to ever need repairs, if you crashed it you just built another one. They are designed so they can be built over night. Fun fly events were often very hard on a plane!!
I made up templates of every part in the plane and started scratch building them. As mentioned, the plane does not come apart for hauling but it's not real big. I mounted my engines at abpout a 45 degree angle with the head pointed down, it helped keep the engine snot off the plane and just looked better. I used the .46 LA engines almost all the time, it's one of those planes you just don't require a bigger engine or need to spend the money on an AX or FX. If I had a kit or the templates I would build another one but I still have a Mid West Hots 60 in my fleet so I don't really need another fun fly plane. Go check out that thread in kit building!!
