Alright guys i just joined SPRC St. Paul Radio Control club and my instructor Kevin was great... My Hobbico Avistar was flying like a dream.... This is my first time flying a glow plane, i have flown a Firebird II, Aerobird, Slow Stick, and GWS Beaver now for about 2 months... I have to tell you guys that the glow was wonderful!!!
after a few circles around the field i started to do loops and rolls, flying inverted and then pulling it verticle into a hammer head.. man does glow power have POWER! sheesh it was awesome
I dont think i could of had a better instructor, the guy landed it perfectly on the runway 2 times... and I landed it in the grass on
the 3 flight ... not to bad of a landing but i broke my first wood prop
the plane stayed on its wheels though so no real damage... If anyone from around the Twin Cities area that are planning to join the SPRC i would highly suggest Kevin as an instructor, nice guy and very good at fly the birds
well, i think i have just been a glow fuel convert
I guess i will still fly the Beaver and slow stick in a pinch but the glow power i think will keep me hooked!!! did i already say i was flying inverted!!! HEHE that was SOOO much fun!!! now all i can look forward to is fly my first solo flight

Welcome midnite! The ole "glow fever" can get ya. I got it bad about a year and a half ago, and it's just gotten worse and worse (8 planes already!!). I also busted a wood prop when I was learning and decided to go with the plastic props until I learned to keep the nose up a little better...
Have fun!

Way to go!
Glad to hear that you had such a good first experience with glow juice.
Now, apply the 3-P rule = Practice, Practice and More Practice.
Take care and let us hear how your further experiences with golw go for you.
