I am building an R/C extra 300 and am about to buy the engine, but im not so sure what to get.
I thinkI should buy a 30. sized brushlessor up engine, by what make shouldI get. I would like to power it electricly
Details:
wingspan= 4.5ft
Lenth with cowling= 42 inches
wieght w/ servos and pushrods but without radio, lipo battery, motor and speed controler. = 1lb 4 oz
width (at largest part) 5 inches.
Servos: 4.5v 1.5kg torque
I would also like to know what speed controler and batteyI would need.
Thanks
Oscar

Try the following as a guide:
Motor - DualSky 3548-5, AXI 2826-10, Hacker A30-10XL
ESC - 60A, Turnigy Plush ones are nice, cheap and good.
Batt - 3S 2,500 to 3S 3,000 or 4S 2,500 to 4S 3,000
Prop - 13x6.5 - 14x7
If you build your plane really light you can get away with a 3S set up even, esp if you are not going to fly hard 3D.
Mount the motor then plane the batts to get the recommended CG and then decide where to build the battery tray.

You wouldn't know, what chargerI wouldn't need for the lipo battery,I won't need a multi selcetor one, asI am not charging multiple batterys

Isn't there a well known brand that does whatI wan't (engines wise)? I knowI could over power it for £30. How much toque do i need to get from a motor etc.
