It will work. I've done this a number of times including moving the program from one TX to another one being a 72 and the other a 2.4, including a different receivers within the same bandand there is a minimum of trim differecne, probably less that the difference between a 40 degree day and a 80 degree day.
Everything between the TX stick and the servo is just there to translate the signal from one to the other movement. You can change from one RX to another brand with no difference. The servo is looking for a signal within a set pulse width and that is all. How that pulse gets to the servo is transparent.
