Default Futaba S3114M servo adapter

Recently, I bought an Extra 330SC from Tower. They listed suggested accessories, and one was the Futaba S3114M servo. Little did I know that the "M" stands for micro connector. I should have read further when I looked at the servo but, shame on me, I assumed (you know what they say about assume...) that it came with the standard universal connector.

Well, I ordered three of them not realizing that what I was ordering was this M version which comes with a micro connector and not the normal three pin universal connector, as we see on other larger servos. Heck, even the Hitec comes with a standard universal connector (Airtronics calls it the Z connector).

So, I am sort of stuck with these servos but would think that someone knows of an adapter that would convert this micro servo to a universal connector... without replacing the connector itself.

Anyone out there have an idea about such a beastie?

Thanks.

CGr.

Snip off the micro connectors and solder on standard connectors.

Hi Ken.

Yeah, I thought of that as I was posting this request.

I don't have any of the connectors so I have to get some. Do you know where I can get some?

I buy mine here: http://www.emsjomar.com/

They also sell a nice crimper for the tiny pins. Tower carries EMS as well.

I think Cermark is another good source.

I would pay what you paid from Tower for them if you'd spot me the shipping...I have the Futaba 2.4 receiver that uses them. PM me if interested.

Ok.. ok.. jeez.. how stupid can I be. It was right there on the Tower web page that if I wanted the "universal" connector to order the same servo with the part number minus the "M".

Live and learn.

So, I ordered a batch of the connectors. There is always a silver lining to this cloud... I can use the connectors to shorten some servo leads so that I don't have 6 feet of wire hanging off of the servos to the receiver on these electric models..... electric.. yeah, Ken, I know.. I know..

CGr,
I have enough servos, lead, extensions, Y-harnesses laying around that I can always find ends like that when I need them!!!

Yeah, I suppose I could do the same thing. I have a box full of servos, extensions, and so on that I could easily salvage from.
