It was 1986 . The plane - A Peace O Cake glider with .051 cox engine.
It took 6 mo. to build. ugly looking . As my Instructor flew it the first time, I thought it was the most beautiful plane I ever saw.
Back than it was not about money , and we were much happier than today with competition of who has the biggest ARTF.
So to all beginners - Please enjoy the journey of this hobby with out going in the hole with credit .

This priceless moment brought to you by Master Card
Sorry could not resist. Yep, you can spend a small fortune in this hobby. I am currently at a turning point where I intend to scale back and revisit some other hobbies I have been neglecting while not giving up RC flying just realizing I cant fly all 20 planes I have.
