Well, the best way to handle this is to cycle them and see if they will hold a charge. If they do.. well, go for it.

But.. ummm.. how do you stop what? Getting new planes (new to you)? Hey, send some this way!!

Huh, well after a statement like that no one is going to want to give you anything, crap stuff or not of any size.

Just like drugs, Just Say Nothank you. I have a lot of old stuff that was given to me and over time a lot of it gets used. I usually take it and if it's total crap I can trash it later. I love it when someone gives me an old trainer, I may not need it today but when someone wants to learn to fly I just do some repairs, mount some old gear and engine and I'm ready to go. The gear may not be the best but it often serves a purpose. When I'm finished teaching I always let the student fly that plane on there own, if it crashes so be it, nothing lost.

I also like getting old trainers from people. Give them a little TLC and they still have plenty of life to pass on to someone just getting started .

I like old stuff. For instance, I have an old Variac, at least 40 years old, and I just found a use for it. And my son gave me an old DC power supply about 20 years ago. What the heck, I shoved in under the work bench, and lo and behold, I found a use for it a couple of weeks ago. As long as it isn't in the way and works I'll take it.

How Do I Know When Throw It Away?

If you can't sell it, give it away. If you can't give it away... throw it away.

What? You want people to give you 60 size planes? They tend to much more expensive than their 40 size counterparts so people want something for them. Try trading 3 or 4 of your 40 size planes for one

Its just my opinion but I think if I had anything that looked like this...

I think I would strip it of its electronics and toss the plane away. lol

Heck, I'm the guy that goes through the trach can at the flying field. I strip anything that is usable off creshed planes. Screws, control horns, tail sections, bolts, nuts, cross braces, fuel line, control rods, etc... there is always that time when you need that tiny control horn screw. As for taking a plane out of flight status, I ground em when I can no longer adjust trim for mid stick hands off level and straight flight (usually a foamie that I've crashed and taped back together to keep it flying).

The easy way to receive the stuff you really want is to whip out the cash at the hobby shop and tell them which box to give you. Beggars can't be choosers.

75mhz. radio is this trash ?
That would depend entirely what you wanted to do with that radio.
75 mhz radios are for surface (boats, cars or tanks) use only and by federal regulation cannot be used in airplanes.

I can relate to enjoying other people's trash. I have a Cub in my garage now that was "too broken to bother with" by it's previous owner. I wouldn't have bought a Cub or even wanted one had someone asked, but I fly what I have and have a good time.

So thats the advantage of joining the AMA.

Come to my flying field and you'll be lucky to find a fuel soaked rubberband.

Go give the planes that "you don't want" back to the original owner so that they can give it to someone who appreciates it and are not so selfish. Really I hope that was a joke which you made.

If someone gives you a Toyota Corolla for free are you going to complain and tell the people you actually wanted a Porsche?
Come on really.
