Default Maiden flight a success

Saturday my Avistar saw it's maiden flight. The plane flew great, I flew 4 times with the instructors of the club I just joined. I wanted to return sunday, but schedule conflicts did not allow it. My biggest problem so far is depth perception and trying to get the plane back over the runway. It always seems like I am alot closer in when I'm turning back over the field than I actually am. I even have that problem with the simulater. I suppose it will come with time. None the less, I am happy the plane flew as well as it did

Cheers,

The perception thing is quite common. It takes quite a bit of flight time to get used to where the plane really is.

The other day I was flying a plane I hadn't flown in about a year, at a field I don't fly at very often. My first landing was in the tall grass on the far side of the runway. I was only about three feet beyond, but.... :stupid:
