Default Mixing different fuel brands in an engine

Is it okay to mix different fuel brands in the same engine. For example, if I use Sig Champion fuel (15% nitro) in my Evolution 46, can I switch to Wildcat fuel (10% nitro)? I am just wondering if it is best to stick with the same manufacturer for consistency in the engine.

Thanks!

I have had a small problem switching from one manufacturer to another. I dont know what the difference was but it took about 3 tanks to iron everything out. If you have a fuel that is cheaper or more easily available, go with that but be aware of changes/adjustments that may be needed during flight. If it runs good on what you are currently using, why change.

I've done this many times, w/o problems.

As stated, you may need a tick or two of needle adjustment, but that's about it.

OPJose is right ....if it's really old I keep it for break-in on the test stand as long as the oil content is good. I am just finishing off a gallon from last fall, a little oily but doing what I want. No use in wasting good fuel when it works.

Certainly as long as you are using a good fuel with enough oil all you should need to do is adjust the needle settings to the different fuel. You may need a hotter glow plug if you are dropping down in nitro content but you wont know until you try.

I have blended different fuels with no ill effects. A LHS was going out of business and dumping his inventory. I picked up a few gallons of 20% and mixed it 50/50 with 5% yielding 12.5% nitro. My engines ran great.

Thanks for the advice. I usually use 10% nitro, but I bought 15% nitro this time because that is all the LHS had in stock.
