Hi everyone,
I have a royal 28 engine (if that's the correct name for it), given to me by another kind flyer. However things suddenly changed, I had to move to another city. Every thing had lost in the move including this kind man's contact. Now all i have is this box of engine. I have decided to resume my dream but i couldn't find any info about this engine from anywhere. Does anyone here could give me a hand sharing me info about this engine? spec is the primary request, a little bit background on the manufacture will be perfect. Thanks to all in advance.

Royal Mfg. was a company in colorado that distributed planes from the marutaka company of Japan, they no longer exist as a company.
Royal kits are some of the best scale designs, the kits are much sought after, even though there a bit antiquated in there building style(lots of blocks of wood to carve into shape) and some other older construction methods, hardwood engine mounting rails, stuff like that, but the variety and scope of the range was outstanding.
I am currently doing a scratch build with heavy modifications of a royal FW190A8 kit now http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_5620546/tm.htm
as for your engine you will probably find some info in the "golden age" section or the "glow engine" section as well, might even come across someone who has some instructions for that particular engine as for performance not too sure, I don't even remember them when I first started in RC in "76

I have heard in the past that the Royal engines where OS knock offs. That's a good thing. I'm not sure exactly what you mean by wanting the specs of it though. Bore, stroke, weight, and power output? Those things are lost in time. You would actually have to measure those things with the engine you have. Those specs are irelevant anyway towards your goal of flying. Find a kit that takes a .20 to .30 engine and fly it. The engine should be good unless it was abused.
