I have a megatech nitro airstrike that I have had for almost three years. I have not flown it at all. I do not even know how to put fuel in the thing. It has a few punctures in it. Are these going to cause any problems? Any one have any type of tips or post/websites to help me get started?

A couple of questions then some advice:
1st: punctures where? in the covering, it will need to be patched before you fly it. In the fuel tank, replace the tank..
Covering can be patched either by buying new covering, cutting a patch out and ironing it on (with a covering iron), this is the preferred method. Or Quick and dirty with clear packing tape to get it to the field.
2nd: Have you ever flown RC before? My assumption is you have not.
Advice:
While you can go it alone, and if you do your research all it will cost you is time and money, it is usually better to learn from someone who does fly. Might I suggest contacting one of the many clubs near you for advice and assistance in this area, and if you can afford one get a good simulator. Its not a replacement for e field instructor but they sure help a lot of folks who either cant/wont get an instructor or just want to learn faster.
I took the liberty of doing a club search on the AMA site and here is what I found in your area:
