Well my plane finally got airborne tonite! It was a joy to see her lift off under the graceful handling of the instructor! He had no problem trimming it out.

After trim out he explained what he wanted me to do, and after a few questions I had the controls. I fly with just thumbs so he gently had his fingers on the sticks. Basically showing me how to make the turns and leveling out. Instruction were to so a basic figure-8 pattern. Shortly the fligh line chief had us come down. My instructor landed the Superstar sooooo softly it was incredible. He got the plane next to the flying station and shut her down. He told me the plane flew well and gave me some other pointers. Last thing he said was to take the plane back to the station and fill it up.

Well we went up again with the same instructor. He let me taxi it to the take off point. He took the plane off while telling me how the takeoff should go. He got it to altitude, he handed me the box, and said, "Here ya go."

I flew around the sky in a flight path closely resembling a figure 8. I did drift some due to torque and wind but never got into any trouble. I even managed to keep my altidude most of the time! We got the signal our time was almost done and my instructor landed the darn plane even softer than he did the first time! He said, "Yep, nice flying plane."

They told me to fuel up again but I decided to get home. IT was a good day. My plane flew twice and I had some time guiding her around in the sky. Yes, it was a good day!!!

Great! Congrats!

Yes, the Supertar is a great plane. Many of my students use them.

You'll be greasing it in soon....

There's nothing better than getting in some flight time, and going home with an airplane that's still in one piece!
