Default engine question?

i have a hangar 9 sundowner 50 arf sitting waiting to be build its recommended engines are 2 stroke .40 to .52 and 4 stroke .52 to .82.....i ordered an asp/magnum .61 four stroke engine for this. how do u guys feel this motor will fly this plane. im not going for rocket speed here. but im not familiar with the power output of the asp/magnum engines versus lets say os and saitos. the .61 is on the lower eng of recommened engines of course. but any ideas on how u think it will fly with this motor are welcome! the motor was only 100 bucks brand new. so had to get it. the .91s were out of stock and the site i order from didnt even have any of the .70s in so im hoping im gonna be okay with the .61. oh and if it helps. the planes speced weight is between 6 and 7 pounds.

Default RE: engine question?

It's a middle of the road engine, so it will fly it fine. It's hard to put something on there that won't fly it at least well enough as long as you stay in the recommended range.

Default RE: engine question?

I've seen the Sundowner 50 flown with a Saito .65, it was plenty of power:

A new ASP .61 4-stroke should be a nice match.
