Default ARGH!!!

Another windy weekend forecast!! [:@]I'm just going to have to take a week off of work so I can fly!!! Birthday is Sunday, riding the harley to parts unknown Although supposed to be a nice calm warm day on Sunday. But this ride with a group of folks has been scheduled for sometime now. I've been waiting almost 6 months to fly the PT 19!! MAN!! Getting to the point that I'm going to fly in the wind and hope for the best!

Bill: I was planning on flying yesterday, after work.. weather was gorgeous. I got home and started loading up the car, decided I'd do one quick check on the batteries and found that the TX battery was almost "empty". Grrrrr indeed. I had charged it last week and thought it was ready to go. So, I put it on the "fast charger", but it rejected the battery. Blah!!! Looks like I gotta buy a new battery for the TX.

It has been sitting around for a while now, so I'm not surprised that it was drained, but surprised at the fact that it didn't hold the charge from last week.

So, a really nice flying day was lost. Blah.

Wind has been bad around here too. I=On the other hand it has not rained. At least if it would rain it might do some good for my lawn and the runway while we can't fly

The wind here is tollerable for some sport 40/60 flying but I want to get my 50cc Aeroworks Extra 260 in the air for the first time since I got the engine back from DA... last December[:@]

EDIT:// This also brings up the age old question... Does the wind SUCK or does it BLOW?

Spring time can be a little frustrating if you are an RC pilot.

You should try living in Maine if the wind is not blowing it's only because you haven't left the house yet.
Me and my flyin buddy went out wed afternoon we took out the three parkzones just to get some quick flights before the forcasted showers.
Flight three was my PZ ME109 "maidenflight" about 2 minutes into the flight the gusting wind got so bad cross runway I didn't think I was gonna get my plane back
nothing like the thrill of flying a 2.5 pound plane in a 25 mph wind

Hey...it coulda gone belly up while you were flying...

ARGH for sure, then!

==========================

Tell ya what, guys...y'all go right on ahead complaining about wind. You could be in this part of the country, where the fine RC folks in Bowling Green are dealing with:

at their flying field (Image by DadsToysBG)

Or, heck...you could be here in Nashville, at Cornelia Fort Airpark...

Personally, I'll take the wind. *heh*

Landings are at a slower groundspeed when into a high headwind. ;-) Take-offs are shorter, too. Life is good!

Landing while flying backwards relative to the ground is always a special thrill[8D]
