Default wht 2nd plane

My 2nd was a Vmar Vstick. WOW! It was everything I needed. Once I was no longer intimidated by it's agility, I found it was easier to land than my LT40. Sometimes when its windy a high wing "floater" just doesnt want to come down.

Default 2nd Airplane

Choosing a second airplane depends a lot on your flying skills and those of us on RCU can not judge them.

If you are young and have good hand-eye coordination, then a more advanced plane will suit you. On the other hand, if you are older or are not good with hand-eye tasks, you might want to get a plane that is not too much advanced over a trainer.

In most cases, a "Stick" type, shoulder wing plane with a symmetrical airfoil will normally do. Several companies in various countries offer them. You might also consider the Kangke SK/50, another shoulder wing plane, but one that does not have "Stick" in its name.

If you insist on a low wing plane, it is hard to beat one of the Sig 4-Stars, either ARF or kit. With the full wing, they are still quite trainer like. With one rib clipped from each side, they roll faster and will do virtually all advanced aerobatics except serious 3D.

tail dragger landings are easy, if it is calm just land normally:try to get all 3 wheels to touch at the same time. if it is a little breezy try to land with the mains first (you need to flair a little) then use a little forward pressure to hold it down, kill the power and let the tail touch, don't force it.

i have no R/C experience with tail draggers but i do fly full scales tail draggers.

that is an age old question, and you will not get a definate answer here. everybody will have an opinion, and you will be no further twards your choice when you come out than when you come in. i would reccomend an easy sport by great planes. talk to the guys at the local field, come up with a couple good canidates, and see which one is the most reccomended. infact, if you narrow down the 2-10 planes you would most want to have as a second plane, you can start a poll. that i think is the best way to go.

When you start a new thread, this is the screen you will see. i have highlited the place on the page where it gives you that option. Number of options initially means how many different things there are to vote for. if you check the box, then when you hit submit, you will be taken to a "fill out the vote options sheet". as the thread starter, you will be allowed to see the percentages at any time

just a tip. "please check out my POLE" is not a very attractive title. you also spelled "poll" wrong. i am not trying to critisize you, but by the way it looks, if i did not know, i would say it was a test by the title. you need a title like something like what you have now: which second plane. my thinking is, because this is a subject that people like to join in to because there is always such a debate, you need a provoking title like that. if i were you i would add easy sport to that list also because i know a lot of people who would reccomend that plane.

hey i am in the same positon and i have posted around 10 threads and i have came to one conclusion. buy what you want with in reason. but something fun but nothing super aerobatic (you know what i mean). find something you like adjust to it and have fun. remember you can always have it on low rates. so have fun and fly what you like.
