Hi!
What size is the plane???
I use one 4mm nylon bolt on my Q-500 racers and two 4mm nylon bolts on my DC-3

Just in case,

scott,

If you are building the 60 size kit, you can find data and manual here:

http://www.carlgoldbergproducts.com/...ma0952.html#13

http://manuals.hobbico.com/gpm/gpma0952-manual.pdf

Check page 23, where two 4 mm bolts are specified.

In the US, we would use 2 1/4 X 20 nylon bolts if it is a 60 size plane. Good Luck, Dave

thanks dave - do those dimensions equate to 4mm x 40mm - i'll use either 4mm or 5mm nylon screws - i'm guessing the 1mm won't make a difference either way

A #8 imperial is about a 4mm bolt

A #10 imperial is about a 5mm bolt

Dave: You really have me aghast with the wing bolt size you mention, 2-4/40's??? I and all others I know use 2-1/4/20's. Perhaps you made a typeing error?

I believe that the most used sizes in USA for nylon wing bolts are #10-24, #10-32 and 1/4"-20, in lenghts between 1" and 3".

TedMo, you are correct. The mind said one thing the fingers typed something else. I do know that the Goldberg Cub and Chipmunk , both 60 size planes use 2 each 6/32 bolts with fender washer's for wing bolts. Thanks once again, Dave

Hi scottm50,

My CG Super Chippy is >ten years old and the original allan head bolts are still working fine. Given the way the blind nuts mount to the fuselage I think the modifications to fit nylon bolts wouldn't be worth the effort. Don't forget to reinforce the UC mounting blocks.

Cheers,

Colin
