Hi, I've been flying an alpha trainer with the Evolution .45 motor that comes with the 10" 3-blade prop. I've been burning tower hobbies fuel without any nitro.
First question: How much difference will some 10% fuel make?
Second question: Will going to an 11" prop help me and do I want an 11-6 or an 11-7? Will one pull harder than the other but go slower.
I really appreciate the help I've obtained on this forum.

I am running the Evolution .46 on my Kadet LT40, and have VERY good luck with the Master Airscrew 11x6, and I am presently running a Top Flite power prop in 11x7.5, which really works well on my engine. A lot of guys will tell you that the 11x6 or 11x7 prop is "too much" prop for your engine, but that is just not true with the Evo's. I've been running the 11x7.5 for almost three months now, and the performance is great. I would start with an 11x6 and see what results you get, and go from there.

Anything from a 10x7 up to the props listed above should be fine. You'll get different flight performace of course, but you won't blow anything up or anything like that. For training, I'd say an 11x4 or 11x5 would be safe bets.
Going from 0% to 10% you will usually see a noticeable change in most engines. The engine will produce a bit more rpm (which you might or might not notice in the air, but should be noticeable at takeoff), and should idle better (though with that flywheel on some of the Evo engines, you might not notice that either).

I have 1 day of flying an 1 day of driving in the grass in on my alpha an at first I had trouble with speed in the grass just all kinds of problems
seems this 3 blade works on perfect runways maybe, after reading here went with a master airscrew 11-7,I can't tell you whats the best but I just love what it did to my plane it would probable take off on any field you would try now just really can't believe the power it has now, throw the 3 blade away an don't look back, imo this is the best trainer i could have right now power with good handling I flew with the throttle back an flew longer on less fuel an had way less grass on my plane with the 11-7, I know I am just a beginner but I don't see the 3 blade as a plus at all but the motor is I think we might have bragging rights on the motor we had trainer day an the alpha was the strongest motor out there I had a great day flying I might also add that I tried bigger wheels 3.5 on the back an put 1 of the 2 3/4 stock back tires on the front first an this helped some but i don't believe as much as the prop I could probable put the stock tires back on an be good 2 but i like what i have now an will just stick to flying with less time driving what a blast I just couldn't be happier, an just had to tell somebody......I don't want to ague about it maybe with more time I might see something else i'm sure but i'm flying now

This is a email from the Horizon hobby product support, that sale the alpha Evolution trainer engine. The company emailed it to me today. I've been running the 11x7 prop, with good performance.
We would recommend using either a 10x6 or an 11x6 prop for this engine. I
hope that you have found this information helpful. If you have any further
questions please feel free to contact us at 1-877-504-0233.
Sincerely,
Horizon Product Support

From: Laurel, MD,
Well, we bolted a 10x6 on a student's Evo the other day (only prop handy), and it flew fine. Not a surprise, of course. But you'd get more thrust from a larger prop. The Evo seems to have a really flat power curve and works well with a variety of props. A nice trait for an engine pitched at beginners.
