I had model 2 set up for testing an electric motor and esc combo at one time. Binding then seemed to be a normal process.
I am getting ready to install things in my new plane and I thought I would just use the model 2 setting and then I remembered it may have something in the memory for the ESC and such so I did a reset on the DX6I for that model.
So I am thinking at this point that I must re bind the receiver to the transmitter, but I was not sure.
So I put the bind plug in the BATT/Bind position and plugged the battery into an open channel and to my surprise the receiver lights are solid, like the are bound already? The LEDs do not blink like they are supposed to and pulling the trainer switch forward while turning the transmitter on makes no difference whatsoever either.
So I plug in a brand new servo and nothing happens when I try to control it.
It's acting like and giving me the indication that the receiver is still bound to the transmitter yet Ihavenot control of servosbut I am not sure what's going on now.

OK, beats the H*** out of me. Maybe it's like fishing and I have to learn just how to hold my mouth open?
I went back in there, reviewed the procedure and found I was doing everything in the correct order.
But I unplugged it all and did it again and this time the receiver blinked and the bind happened without a problem.
I think I only tried this 4-6 times before I walked away.
Then all of the sudden the DX6i started getting stiff on the elevator control for some reasonand it was sticking. Never did that before~~~
So I opened it up, and the tension up and down both ways and reset it where it was and it now seems OK. The transmitter only has few flights on it with my Slow Stick so that should not be happening.
I think I will quit while I am ahead today!

First of all, you said you reset the model. On 2.4 systems, you need to match the receiver to the aircraft name, set your throws, etc.If you reset the transmitter , it is at Zero. You can use only one RX that is matched to the TX with that aircraft. That is model match.
I don't know about Futaba radios, I selected JR, but that is not important.
You need to rebind the RX with the model name and then bind it to the TX.Then set your controls the way you want.

And you may have hit on it. It cleared the model name when I reset. I am not sure when I put it back in, but it went through the correct procedures anyway.
