how often should a guys cycle his batts

If you are talking about nimh..........you don't need to cycle them..........they do not have a memory like nicd's

I cycle my nimh batteries 1-2 times per year but, like you said, not because of any sort of memory issue. I just do it to check the capacity and make sure the battery isn't having any issues. If I see a significant capacity drop, I toss it and buy a new one.

Same as chuck, sort of as the sprit strikes me. New nimh packs often need to be cycled about 4 times when you first get them before they will go up to there full capacity. Something I have just noticed over the last couple of years. It's good to know what condition your packs are in and cycling is the only way to find out.
