Default Skis for duraplane trainer

I have recently converted my Duraplane trainer to a tail dragger and am looking to mount skis on for this winter. The only skis I am seeing are dubro 40-60 size. These look OK, but am wondering if they really are good, or if there are any other alternatives out there?
Thanks for your time..

I have used those when I still lived in Michigan.... they work just fine....

Snow has be hard pack....

for really soft powder, floats actually work a bit better.

The DuBro skis are great! I have a pair myself and love them! I have made my own in the past too, but the DuBro are much better!

Sold.. Was thinking about making something but for 20 bucks, it almost doesn't seem worth it.
Thanks

I've had great luck with the DuBro skis. Easiest method is to rig a whole new set of gear and then swap the struts and all instead of trying to dismount the wheels and tension the skis each season.

PS - you don't need a tail-wheel ski and if it is a trike make sure you have prop clearance. The ski can tip up 45° and strike the prop if you drop into a footprint or land hard.

Floats also work Great in snow. Not so good on ice. The DuBro ski's are worth the effort. ENJOY !!! RED

Thanks again for the input. It does make sense to put the skis on there own landing gear brace and just swap the whole setup instead of swapping the wheels and skis. I'll have to see if I can't find an extra landing gear somewhere
Thanks again
