Looks like Hurricane Earl is going to give us a bit of a lashing here in So. New Jersey today. Currently, it's raining with some wind, but nothing bad... yet. The forecast shows that flooding may be more of an issue than wind or rain. We will see.
So, no RC'ing today
except maybe some sim time.

My son is currently working in Gulf Port and just called. He says he thinks the weather warnings may have been a little overblown. Says the track they have would make it appear you will fly sometime this holiday weekend. Of course the second oil rig explosion and fire has their attention down there more than a hurricane off the east coast. So they had to slow the movement of some assets for right now.

Well, it turned out to be a pretty good fizzle. We had a little wind, not much, and a little rain, nothing more. I don't know what it is going to be today (Saturday), but I am going to go down to Cape May with several of our club members and maybe.. just maybe, fly demo flights at the Wildwood Naval Air Station show today through Monday. Should be fun.
Gene.. I think I saw one of your cushions the other day when I was up in the Convair doing ADS-B testing.....

Mid west (michigan) has had rain and 30 mph winds for last 3 days and looks like next three will be the same. At least the hurricane came and went.

I almost feel bad, we're suppose to have winds southerly breezes up to 10mph today, but gusts up to 30mph starting tommorow, guess Ill force myself to go flying today

Yesterday, it started out pretty nice, no wind and looking good for a day at the field, but I was supposed to attend an Air Show with the club and put on a demo. I had care issues so I was delayed till about noon. By then, the wind really picked up and was really gusty all day after the morning calm. Gorgeous day, bright sunshine, but very windy. Forecast for today is 10 - 12 mph. Looks like I'll load up planes, go to the gym, then head on out to the field.

Tried to get out Sunday morning but wind was at 15 mph when I arrived and started gusting higher...got one flight.
Today is forecast to 30 mph, tomorrow 40 mph and through to Wed above 30 mph gusts....That makes one week of terrible weather and no flying (essentially) for a 4-day holiday week-end.
Boo-hoo-hoo.
