I'm 38, started one year ago, I'm working on my 8th airplane.
(all the previous 7 are alive and kicking).
Italian proverb: LIFE STARTS AT 40. (also mentioned in the movie "divorce italian style").

LOL 41 and I just started flying this year... and Yes I am on the younger side of the guys at my field... Great part is that most everyone loves to help and guide you... Don't be afraid of looking silly... Today with trainer cords and I used a Great Planes Sim on my computer to learn and get comfortable with the stick movements... After three days I was flying solo... It takes some a lot longer... Just take the time you need to get comfertable... It's a great place to just shoot the Bull with the guys... With the sim I found the fling part pretty easy... Just gland to have those guys there with their experience to teach me first about Safety... Second love listening to all the stories... It doesn't take long to learn to fly when things are going right... It's when somthing goes wrong whe things get interesting... The stories are great... I love them and you will too... Good luck...

I just turned 33, and I'm the (very) young man at my club. The first time I showed up, I felt REALLY out of place, but these guys were so excited to have a newbie, they "took me under thier wing" without hesitation. I do feel like a kid again talking to these guys, listening to thier experiences, and learning volumes from them.
I've been running cars, trucks, and boats for a number of years, but now am wishing I had put the money into planes & helis to begin with. Even though I did gain some experience with the "2 dimensional" vehicles (engine tuning, linkage setup, etc.), they just pretty much sit in the corner collecting dust while I'm out at the field. Probably going to sell everything to finance more aircraft.

NEVER TOO YOUNG!!!! :D
