Im suprised no mentioned this, but Dubro sells a stone like product that looks like the shape of a bar of soap. I bought mine a few years ago at my LHS. For me
it works great, and it only cost a couple of bucks. It does the job !

To add to the posts that mentioned soap and water, it seems to help if I use very warm water, almost to point of being too warm for comfort. I think what is happening with that approach is you are forcing your hands to sweat and loosen the glue from the bottom out. Seems to work for me. +1 to having CA on your hands being a right of passage in model building.
That's what my basic instructor always did, very VERY hot water and soap. I don't worry about it much. If I have a lot of it on my fingers, like after a small spill when refilling my bottle then I will remove it with acetone, other then that I wait for prime time TV then I just chew and spit. As a kid, it drove my mother crazy and Ambroids chewed off a bit easier. Nothing much worth watching on TV anyway so I don't miss much if I concentrate on the chewing.

To add to what G.Barber said about getting CA on your jeans.... I have found that every place I have dripped CA on a pair of jeans, that eventually there will be a hole there [:@]...But, hey the CA is gone! I have many pairs of jeans with many holes in them! :D

Get some CA "Debonder" from your local hobby shop. It'll right in the same area as the CA.

Wait until you have some CA on your fingers and you accidentally hit it with the CA accelerator... This is often followed by the hopping victory dance of creative cursing.. Then the CA hazing ritual will be complete. :D

Larry,
Yeah right.Show me where the debonder is at Hobby Lobby here in town!!!!!!;)

Hobby Lobby (craft store, not hobby shop)here in town carries a line of CA that a lot of us here buy. They had a debonder that they sold that was really effective. For some reason they decided to quit carrying the debonder, but not the CA's. Go figure!!http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/js/f...n/rolleyes.gif

Nitromethane (straight, not glow fuel which some insist on calling "nitro" these days) is a faster solvent for CA than acetone. I expect that excessive use of either is not to be recommended for health reasons.

There was a thread on something like "Funny building stories" or something like that.
Man that was a blast!  I have tried to find it but have been met with limited success.

If you want to read some funny CA stories please find this.

Things like the cat running through the house with a CA bottle stuck in its fur,  to a guy
opening a bottle with his mouth and glued his mouth shut.  We must find that thread.

it would fit great with this one.

cheers Tim

RE: CA glue

When I have a building session with CA I use debonder to get it off my fingers. Once I'm done with the CA bottle I tap it on the bench to get the CA back down in the bottle and remove the top and throw it in a jar of Acetone and install a clean dry cap on the bottle. I bought a dozen tops with caps for a few bucks and keep recycling them. Keep the baby food jar full of Acetone and keep the lid tight. When it starts to turn brown I dump and refill.

Doing this ensures your CA bottle is ready to go the next time you grab it.

RE: CA glue

Thanks to everyone for massive replies. I eventually found out in doing a generic search that anything with acetone (nail polish) remover and a pumice stone would. Raided my wife's supply drawer and took care of it. The CA came off better than time I have gotten crazy glue on my hand. Thanks again
