RE: 2nd plane
ORIGINAL: compi thank you for all your replies, I also would like to know what brand of servos to use for the escapade .61, I'm thinking of ds821 or hi tech 645mg your input is greatly appreciated. |
RE: 2nd plane
I bought an Escapade as a second plane but after flying it the first day I decided to wait.
So I bought a Big Stick which I consider the best second plane. Fast, great maneuvers and still slow and smooth landings. It's really the best. After I felt polished with my Big Stick, I moved to my Escapade. |
RE: 2nd plane
how do you like the Futaba S3010?
|
RE: 2nd plane
I like the 3010 very much. I use them in my larger planes and have not had one fail. I have a FOX .74 Eagle IV (great engine!) in the Revolver 70 so I decided to go with a stronger servo. Therefore I used the 3010 servos. I also use 148's and 3004's. Those are also good servos for 40 and some 60 size planes. My 148's are 20+ years old so I mainly use them on throttles now but again, have never had one fail.

RE: 2nd plane
Althought there are great many low wing constant chord wing planes about, to me the Escapade is judst the prettiest.
Futaba S3010 are fantastic servo's. I have around 12 of them and they all centre very well for analogue servo's. I have 4 in a little BH Home Run Pattern plane where the centering and almost no slop is greatly appreciated |

Tim,

No doubt the Escapade is one of the prettiest plane around, and for its price no plane can beat it. Not to mention that it’s really an ARF and does not required much gluing. I don’t regret buying it.

No doubt that the Big Stick deserves its name as the Ugly Stick. It’s one of the ugliest plane around, and require lots of gluing and cost 50% more than the Escapade.

If I had a choice between the two, I would choose the Big Stick without a blink. Why? It’s fun to fly and nothing beats the fun of flying in this hobby. I may be new to the hobby too, but I know that no plane looks pretty once they’re in the air. It’s what they do in response to your transmitter that counts.
|
